QED, the UK's leading producer of specialist hi-fi and home cinema cables for more than three decades, is pleased to announce the release of two completely new HDMI interconnects to its award-winning 'Performance' range.
'High Speed + Ethernet'
Designated 'Performance HDMI-e' and 'Performance HDMI-e Super Speed', these two new cables are the first to be produced by QED to meet the strenuous new 'High Speed + Ethernet' HDMI specifications.
QED is a brand of Armour Home. Alastair Worlidge, its Product Manager responsible for QED, stated: "QED was one of the first specialist manufacturers to produce HDMI cables and the fact we continue to enjoy worldwide success with our 'Performance' range is a clear testament to our design team's unsurpassed knowledge of the subject. Naturally, when the HDMI licensing organisation announced the new 'v1.4' specifications, including the 'High Speed + Ethernet' variant, our design team got on the job straight away."
The 'High Speed + Ethernet' specification of the 'HDMI-e' and 'HDMI-e Super Speed' cables adds high-speed networking to the standard HDMI link, allowing users to take full advantage of their IP-enabled devices without a separate Ethernet cable. Another new addition is the 'Audio Return Channel'; this allows an HDMI-connected TV with a built-in tuner to send audio data 'upstream' to a surround audio system, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable.
The HDMI-e cable benefits from extra large, 26 AWG, oxygen free copper, main cores which allow data transfer speeds up to an outstanding 16.6 Gb/s. for a one metre length cable.
The HDMI-e Super Speed cable boasts heavy duty 24 AWG OFC. copper cores which results in data transfer speeds up to an truly astonishing 20.1 Gb/s for the one metre version.
Naturally, all QED HDMI cables have gold plated, laser soldered connecting pins to ensure an optimised, corrosion free connection and of course, all carry a 'no quibble' lifetime warranty.
The new HDMI cables are available now in lengths from 0.5m to 20m.
